Events at LES

A year oflearning, competitionand community

Explore the competitions, workshops, outreach programmes and society experiences organised by LES throughout the academic year.

Events Across the Academic Year

LES organises events throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Many begin as initiatives of one of our four projects and are delivered in collaboration with stakeholder departments responsible for areas such as events, finance, operations, outreach, marketing, media and technology. Others are society-wide initiatives focused on recruitment, member development or community-building.

Participation differs across the calendar. Some events are open to the wider LUMS student body, while national competitions and programmes welcome students from schools and universities across Pakistan. Internal events are reserved for members of the LES General Body, giving them opportunities to learn, collaborate and build relationships beyond their usual teams.

Eligibility, registration requirements and event formats may change between editions. Current details will be included with each event announcement.

Our Events

Young Leaders’ & Entrepreneurs’ Summit

The flagship event of LES. The multi-day summit brings school and college students together for entrepreneurial competitions, workshops, speaker sessions, networking opportunities and social events. Delegates move through challenging rounds that test creativity, strategy, financial understanding and teamwork while connecting with participants from institutions across Pakistan.

Society Fair

Society Fair introduces LES to the wider LUMS student body at the beginning of the academic year. Freshmen can meet current members, learn about the society’s projects and departments, and understand how recruitment works.

Orientation

Orientation is the first detailed introduction to LES for prospective managers. It explains the society’s purpose, annual initiatives, departmental structure and member experience while presenting the more social side of its culture.

Induction

Induction welcomes newly recruited managers and helps them build connections across departments. The two-day experience combines entrepreneurial challenges, team activities, an alumni discussion, interactive games and a department reveal.

Innovations Day

Innovations Day connects LUMS students with international entrepreneurship platforms through practical problem-solving. Working with Playpreneur and NFTE’s World Series of Innovation, participants use design-thinking frameworks to develop solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Hult Prize at LUMS

A two-day social entrepreneurship competition supported by a focused mentorship period. Student teams develop solutions to a global challenge based on the annual Hult Prize challenge, refine their ideas with mentors and present across two pitching rounds.

Ideation Academy

A multi-stage programme for aspiring founders. Participants begin with creative exercises, design-thinking and Value Proposition Canvas workshops before presenting an initial pitch. Selected teams enter a two-week mentorship phase, then pitch Shark Tank-style to investors and industry professionals.

Entrepreneurial Dialectica

A speaker-led platform that brings critical discussion and entrepreneurial learning into LES events. Through conversations with industry professionals, founders, thought leaders and changemakers, members explore current business challenges, emerging trends, leadership and social impact.

Shaur

A structured internship and outreach programme. Selected interns teach practical modules to middle-school students covering entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, problem-solving and technology, then guide students through a community challenge presented at a final showcase.

SOP Workshops

An extended learning programme delivered at a partner school. Across four interactive sessions, students explore entrepreneurship through accessible modules, group discussions, practical activities and take-home challenges.

SOP Chapter

The culmination of the SOP Workshop series. Students visit LUMS for a campus orientation, entrepreneurial activities, interaction with LES members and a guest-speaker session.

Saath Saath Workshop

Equips MBM workers and Aya Bajis with practical entrepreneurial and financial skills — budgeting, saving, pricing, marketing, digital literacy and small-business fundamentals. Promising participants receive initial support to create products and sell them at the Saath Saath Bazaar.

IT Game Night

A collaborative testing event that simulates the Investomania experience in a relaxed, gamified setting. Members take part in rounds involving real-time scoring, leaderboards and simulated transaction flows while the IT team evaluates the underlying systems.

LUMS Mela

A campus marketplace where student-run startups and businesses present and sell their products to the LUMS community, providing a live setting in which to reach customers, test demand and build visibility.
