LUMS Entrepreneurship Bootcamp was one of its kind event held by LUMS Entrepreneurial Society. It was held between 18th and 21st March 2019 and consisted of workshops followed by a social each day. Students from universities all over Lahore participated in the boot camp and benefitted from the expertise of various guest speakers and mentors. Being the first ever boot camp of Pakistan, a lot of attention was paid in curating the sessions for the participants and in order to give them a holistic learning of the entrepreneurial world, these sessions were classified into 3 themes; Social Media Marketing, e-Commerce, and Entrepreneurship.
The first 3 days of the event were based on informative workshops conducted by well-known mentors who guided the participants on various aspects of entrepreneurship. The topic of these sessions ranged from Sales Pitch to Photoshop and Website Management. One such mentor was Mr. Irfan Younas who is one of the most acclaimed and sought-after photographers in Lahore, after rising to fame for his spectacular wedding photography. He taught Photoshop and photography to the participants. Mr. Zain Ashraf Mughal, CEO Seed Out, was also one of our guest speakers who graced the boot camp with their presence and extremely valuable input. Among other experts LUMS Entrepreneurship Bootcamp also had the chance of having one of the top-most digital marketers and consultants of Pakistan, Mr. Ali Raza, who with his unmatched expertise and experience conducted a session on customer profiling. The feedback received from the participants after the sessions was very positive as these workshops were greatly appreciated.
At the end of each day, a social was held in order to help participants take the advantage of the diversity of students at the event and network amongst each other and with some reputable startups. These socials included a Networking Night for the participants to get to know each other, an Internship Drive where participants interacted with startups like Ingrum and Pensy for prospective summer internships, and a qawwali night.
On the last day, the participants competed in 3 rounds that tested them on what they had learned from the event such as marketing and simulation. The winners of the real time marketing round were Abdul Wahab, Kashif Nawaz, and Adnan while the winners of the simulation and the website development rounds were Pehle of IBA and Muhammad Ahsan, Ali Fayyaz, and Abu Bakr Kathia respectively. Moreover, the best startup idea was offered incubation by Innovation District 92 which was won by Hamza Shahid Chhina. The event ended with a closing ceremony where participants, ambassadors and the winners were awarded with certificates.
